Adult ADHD Assessment in Berwick
ADHD Assessments for Adults

When an adult ADHD assessment may be helpful
Adults may consider an ADHD assessment if they consistently experience:
- Difficulty sustaining attention on tasks, particularly those that require mental effort
- Frequent mind-wandering or difficulty staying on track in conversations
- Problems with organisation, planning, or managing time
- Chronic procrastination despite wanting to get things done
- Impulsivity in decision-making, speech, or behaviour
- Difficulty completing tasks once started
- Frequently losing items or forgetting appointments
- Restlessness or an internal sense of ‘always being on the go’
- A pattern of underachievement relative to their ability or effort
Our Assessment Process
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Holistic Screening
The assessment process begins with an initial clinical session and a series of screening questionnaires.- The Holistic View: We recognise that every individual’s experience is unique. Diagnostic assessment is often complex, as significant overlaps exist between different forms of neurodivergence, other mental health presentations, and how significant life experiences and environmental factors shape your ability to regulate attention, control impulses, manage stress, and navigate daily demands. Our goal is to look beyond the surface to understand the specific drivers of your cognitive style.
- Clinical Integrity: Our priority is to gain a comprehensive understanding of your whole picture. We move away from a process line approach, choosing instead to take the time to explore whether neurodivergence is the primary factor, or if other clinical explanations and supports are more relevant to your goals. In many cases, these factors coexist, and we want to ensure our assessment reflects that complexity to give you the most accurate and helpful recommendations.
- Finding the Right Path: If we determine you would benefit from a different type of support—or if you require specialised testing beyond our current scope—we will provide clear guidance and assist you with internal services or the necessary external referral pathways.
Cost: $280
Step 2: The Formal Diagnostic Process
If, following your initial consultation, a full assessment is recommended and you choose to proceed, you will be provided with a fixed-price quote for the total cost of the assessment. This stage is an in-depth clinical exploration conducted over several sessions and includes:
- A Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation: This stage involves a thorough exploration of your developmental history, with a specific focus on your executive functioning, attentional regulation, and cognitive style. This is a dedicated, confidential space for you to share your lived experience and complete targeted questionnaires that look at how you manage focus, impulsivity, and daily tasks. To ensure an accurate diagnostic picture, we review how these patterns have presented over time and—only with your informed consent—may gain collateral information from a family member, partner, or friend who can provide a longitudinal perspective on your history and functioning.
Step 3: Comprehensive Report & Feedback
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed written report. This document outlines the clinical findings and provides tailored recommendations for your daily life, study, or workplace. We then hold a feedback session to discuss the findings together. Our goal is to ensure you have a clear understanding of the results and to help you map out a practical plan for your next steps.
Important Note Regarding Medication NB: Please note that psychologists do not prescribe medication. If your primary goal is to explore pharmaceutical treatment for ADHD, you will need to consult with a Psychiatrist. Our role is to provide the comprehensive diagnostic evidence, clinical understanding, and psychological support often required as part of that broader medical process.

Whether your experiences are consistent with an ADHD diagnosis
Your cognitive profile, including areas of strength and difficulty
